United Bank of India (UBI) was a state-owned financial services company. UBI was the result of the merger in 1950 of four Bengali banks: Comilla Banking Corporation, Bengal Central Bank, Comilla Union Bank and Hooghly Bank. United Bank of India is one of the 14 major banks which were nationalized on July 19, 1969.
In August 2019, it was announced that United Bank and Oriental Bank of Commerce would be merged with Punjab National Bank.
